Waitlist / landing page
Launch a clean waitlist: landing page, signup capture, and confirmation email — on a £0 free-tier stack (or a small paid hosting upgrade if you need commercial Vercel).
For: founder validating an idea before building the product

Steps
Scaffold
Build a single landing page (optional: Lovable → GitHub).
Done when page runs locally.
Supabase
Table for emails (or Auth magic link); enable RLS so only server/service role inserts.
Done when a test signup writes a row.
Resend
Verify domain (SPF/DKIM/DMARC); send a confirmation email on signup.
Done when inbox receives it.
Deploy
Netlify Free, or Vercel Pro if commercial.
Done when public URL captures emails.
Harden
Rate-limit signups; no public SELECT on the waitlist table; spend alerts if you leave Free.
Watch out for
- Supabase Free pauses after 1 week of inactivity — fine for a short validation sprint; bad if the waitlist must stay live unattended.
- Vercel Hobby is non-commercial — a public product waitlist that is commercial use needs Pro (£14.98).
- Resend Free: 3,000/mo and 100/day — fine for early waitlists; bursts can hit the daily cap.
- Lovable Free: 30 build credits/mo — enough for a simple page; Pro if you iterate hard.
What it costs each month
| Stage | Platform (no Lovable) | Stripe fees | Total | + Lovable Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| (a) Lean free (Netlify Free + Supabase Free + Resend Free) | £0.00 | £0.00 | £0.00 | £22.00 |
| (b) Commercial hosting (Vercel Pro + Supabase Free + Resend Free) | £14.98 | £0.00 | £14.98 | £36.98 |
No Stripe in this build (waitlist has no payments). Lovable Pro is £22/mo billed monthly (GBP). Excluded: VAT, domains, usage overages.
Platform at (a) = Netlify Free + Supabase Free + Resend Free (= £0.00).
Platform at (b) = Vercel Pro £14.98 + Supabase Free + Resend Free.
What the totals leave out
- Lean path can be £0 on free tiers (desk-costed).
- Commercial Vercel adds £14.98/mo before any email volume issues.
- Lovable optional; pricing-page GBP £22/mo (VAT unknown).
