What it is

Brevo (once called Sendinblue) lets you send newsletters, automated sequences and app emails from one account. Unlike most email tools it charges by emails sent rather than contacts stored, so you can keep a big list on the free plan and simply send less often.

Good for

  • Big lists you email now and then
  • One tool for newsletters and app emails
  • Starting free with up to 100,000 contacts

Watch out for

  • The free plan sends 300 emails a day
  • Paid tiers have a contact limit as well as a send limit
  • Check which plan removes Brevo branding before you rely on it

Brevo vs Loops vs Mailchimp for newsletters and product emails

Free (300 emails a day, up to 100,000 contacts) or Starter from $9/mo (5,000 emails a month, up to 500 contacts)

  • You pay for emails sent rather than contacts stored, so a big list you email now and then stays cheap. It also covers app emails and SMS if you want one tool.

The free plan sends 300 emails a day, so a 500-person newsletter takes two days to go out. Paid tiers set a monthly send limit and a contact limit, so check both as your list grows.
